It was four in the morning when my TweetBookz partner, Jacob, woke me from a dream and catapulted me into another dream – a business partnership opportunity with the legend, Kevin Smith. Kevin had just tweeted at us and his 2 million Twitter followers, “Yo, @TBookz! Sent you an email. Got an idea. Hit me back. And since I’ve got the space: use the @TBookz service; it’s really rad.”
Within five days we were in Universal Studios Hollywood, sitting across from Jay and Silent Bob. This time he wasn’t so silent, telling us how much he loved what we had done with TweetBookz and that he wanted to go into business with us. The deal was done then and there, sealed with a round of high-fives.
Together with the podcasting king we created PodBookz, a physical set of books transcribed of his podcasts, allowing Kevin’s super fans to have a physical representation of the content they loved so dearly.
